A renowned garden which has international acclaim, Trott’s Community Garden, had been home to Alan and Catherine Trott and their family for thirty-seven years.
To ensure this beautiful garden remained accessible to people from all over the world who admire this local New Zealand paradise, the operation of the garden was transferred into the newly formed Trott’s Garden Charitable Trust in September 2017.
Currently the Trust Board is working towards securing the funding to enable the Trust to acquire the property into community ownership and to develop a true community garden and resource centre.
Trott’s Garden is open to the public 7 days per week 9:00 am – 4:00 pm (unless privately booked) $5 entry fee and donations are welcome.
All groups and individuals are welcome, although bookings are essential for groups. Morning and afternoon tea, lunches as well as guided tours with Alan Trott are available upon request for groups. Please email info@trotts.co.nz with the details of your tour.
Toilet facilities are available. The garden is accessible for prams and wheelchairs in most areas.
Feel free to bring a picnic – there are many spots to enjoy in the garden.
